As I embark on this journey of Czech cinema, history, and language, I need to step back and think about exactly what I want out this learning experience. These are just the major points I plan on learning:
Cinema:
1. Detailed understanding of the clash between Czech New Wave and French New Wave.
2. I want to learn about the dark portrayal of fairytales: Beginnings, Reason, and If and How this has influenced other world cinema (specifically Latin America)
3. Understanding and appreciation for present day Czech film and where it is headed.
History:
1. I want to use Czech films to have a basic understanding of what the culture has gone through specifically from WWII- 1992.
2. Be able to determine the differences between Czech and Slovak cultures, as well as, understand where these cultures overlap.
3. I want to know how the film industry how been influenced and changed through history specifically looking at 1992 and the separation of Czechoslovakia.
Language:
1. Learn basic conversation such as: Greetings, Transportation, Directions, Colors, and Times
2. Be able to order a complete meal including correct customs
3. Be able to read and write basic conversation
